Winter Learn to Swim 2019
CLASS SCHEDULE
• Session 3: 04 Feb-14 Feb (Mon-Thu | Mon-Thu)
• Session 4: 19 Feb-28 Feb (Tue-Fri | Mon-Thu)
• Registration is for eight (8) weekday 30-minute classes. During registration you will choose a class level and class time from a list of available classes between 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Not all levels are always offered.
ONLINE REGISTRATION and PAYMENT
You will be able to register online. A link to registration will be posted when registration starts. Only online payment will be accepted during the below online registration periods.

• Session 3: Opens 15 Jan at 9:00 a.m. Closes 29 Jan at 11:00 p.m. 
• Session 4: Opens 15 Jan at 9:00 a.m. Closes 12 Feb at 11:00 p.m.


WALK-IN REGISTRATION
You will be able to register in person. Walk-in registration will be available after online registration closes. Days and times are subject to change, please call the facility for confirmation.

WALK-IN PAYMENT GUIDELINES
• Cash - Exact amount only. We cannot issue change.
• Check - The following sponsor information must be printed or written on the check: full name, rank, mailing address, unit, and phone #. If paying by check, the person writing the check must be present with his/her ID card. We cannot take the check unless that person that wrote the check is making the payment, along with his/her ID card, handing that check to the cashier. The ID card must have the DoD ID# on it.
• Credit Card - Credit cards may be used for payment.
• Power of Attorney: For you to register a participant that is not legally your own, you must have a Power of Attorney or Special Power of Attorney in your possession, annotating with the participant's name and signed by the parent/legal guardian.

LESSON LEVELS
Classes are 30-minutes long. Parent/Child classes are limited to 8 students. All other classes are limited to 5 students.

***** Lessons - 30 minutes - $75
• Help participants gain basic aquatic skills and swimming strokes.
• Teach skills and concepts needed to stay safe in and around water and to help themselves or others in an aquatic emergency.
• Improve proficiency in the six basic swimming strokes.
               
Parent & Child Aquatics (Levels A & B) - 30 minutes - $50
• Under 4 years old.
• Familiarize children between the ages of 6 months and approximately 3 years with the water and teach swimming readiness skills.
• Provide safety information for parents and teach techniques parents can use to orient their children to the water.
              
Preschool Aquatics Level 1 (Pre-1) - 30 minutes - $75
• Under 6 years old.
• Familiarize children approximately 4 and 5 years old to the aquatic environment and help them acquire rudimentary basic aquatic skills.
• Help participants begin to develop positive attitudes and safe practices in and around water.
          
Preschool Aquatics Level 2 (Pre-2) - 30 minutes - $75
• Under 6 years old.
• Build on and improve skills learned in Pre-1.
• Increase knowledge of water safety topics introduced in Pre-1.
           
Preschool Aquatics Level 3 (Pre-3) - 30 minutes - $75
• Under 6 years old.
• Increase proficiency and build on the basic aquatic skills learned in Pre-1 and Pre-2.
• Reinforce water safety concepts and skills introduced in earlier levels and introduce additional water safety topics.
                
Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills - 30 minutes - $75
• Youth at least 5 years old.
• Orient participants to the aquatic environment and help them gain basic aquatic skills.
• Help participants begin to develop positive attitudes and safe practices around water.
                  
Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills - 30 minutes - $75
• Youth at least 5 years old.
• Build on the basic aquatic skills, water safety skills, and concepts from Level 1.
               
Level 3: Stroke Development - 30 minutes - $75
• Youth at least 5 years old.
• Build on the skills learned in Levels 1 and 2 to help participants achieve basic water competency in a pool environment.
                  
Level 4: Stroke Improvement - 30 minutes - $75
• Youth at least 5 years old.
• Improve Participants proficiency in performing the swimming strokes that were introduced in level 3.
              
Level 5 & 6: Stroke Refinement & Swimming Proficiency - 30 minutes - $75
• Youth at least 5 years old.
• Help participants refine their performance of all six swimming strokes.
• Refine strokes so participants swim them with greater efficiency and effectiveness over longer distances.



TIME SLOTS 
All times are subject to change at any time.  All times are pending instructor availability. Not all levels are available at all time slots. Classes are 30-minutes long with a 15-minute break between classes.    

LIGHTNING AND THUNDER POLICY 
In the event of thunder or lightning the pool must close for 30 minutes and the pool deck must be cleared of all personnel. If thunder or lightning is present within 20 minutes of the lesson start time, we will cancel the lesson for the day. For example, if your swimming lesson is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., the class would be cancelled if thunder or lightning was present at 10:40 a.m. or thereafter. Any thunder or lightning before this 20-minute-prior mark does not affect the lesson. For instance, thunder at 10:39 a.m. will not cancel the 11:00 a.m. lesson. If thunder or lightning occurs during a lesson, the rest of that lesson will be cancelled for the day. We will do our best to contact you in the event of a cancellation, but please be aware that we might be unsuccessful. If you are unsure about your lessons being held, please phone your lesson pool, the Foster Aquatic Center, at 645-2211 | Off Base 098-970-2211

REFUND POLICY 
Request for refunds can be made at your lesson pool. Amount is determined when the request is made.
100% refunds will be given for withdrawal made on or before the 1st day of class.
75% refunds will be given for withdrawal made on the 2nd day of class.
50% refunds will be given for withdrawal made on the 3rd day of class.
25% refunds will be given for withdrawal made on the 4th day of class.
No refunds will be given for withdrawal made after the 4th day of class.
